Science Technician - 28 hours per week (Monday-Friday) Term-Time Only

5 days / 28 hours per week / 38 weeks per year 

Actual Salary* £19,448 - £20,285 pa (dependent on experience) 

FTE Salary Bexley Scale 6 £29,346 - £30,630 pa

*Includes a Science Technician Allowance of £319 pa 

Following the retirement of the post holder, we seek to appoint a Science Technician to join an outstanding team of technicians providing support for the teaching of Science from KS3 to KS5, commencing as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly Science Department consisting of 14 members of teaching staff and 5 technicians. Experience of working in a school science environment is desirable.

This permanent post is term-time only and 28 hours per week - flexibility exists regarding working hours but you will be required to work Monday to Friday. Your main responsibilities will include preparing and clearing away apparatus and equipment used in science lessons and activities. You will take an active role in ensuring all health and safety procedures are maintained and labs/prep rooms are kept in a tidy state and remain a safe environment to work in. You will prepare stock solutions of chemicals and ensure stock levels of chemicals are maintained and safely stored. The team of technicians is led by a Team Leader who is responsible to the Head of Science.
