Parent Voice
Bexley Grammar School's community is a strong one. Fostering excellent relationships between staff and the parents and carers of our students is a source of pride to us all. Seldom do we have an opportunity to share the many positive emails and feedback we have received throughout the years, so our intention with this web page is to do just that. We hope it isn't perceived as being boastful, moreover a celebration of the unique qualities and attributes that we believe sets Bexley Grammar apart from other schools.
We hope you enjoy reading some of the comments that have been kindly forwarded to us from parents and carers. Many refer to our wonderful House productions, others more generally to the educational journey their child (or, in many cases, children!) have followed, but all reflect the school at its very heart. MORE QUOTES TO BE ADDED
We are delighted and very excited to move forward with our daughter's first university choice for Medicine. So happy with the result. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers at Bexley Grammar who have seen both our daughters though 7 years of education (where did that time go!). We have loved being at BGS...the community is truly supportive and caring... thank you.
Our son is absolutely thrilled to have passed the IB and we are so happy for him. Thank you so much for all the school has done for him and the excellent teaching and endless encouragement - he's been given an excellent start in life thanks to BGS.
To all those involved in the production of Little Shop of Horrors. I just wanted to send my congratulations to all those involved in the production. I am an ex-parent, my children left Bexley Grammar School more than 20 years ago, but I am always interested to see what's happening in the school. All I can say is the production was absolutely amazing, all the pupils involved were brilliant. The music, the singing, the acting and the set were amazing. Especially the man-eating plant, which was very cleverly done and very funny. You must be very proud of your students and staff for all the hard work they must have put in to make this such a brilliant production.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and all your staff for providing outstanding online schooling this half term, despite the huge challenges you have all faced. I have observed some of the virtual lessons and seen the work set and the lovely manner in which your staff have dealt with all the children and the work. Particular thanks to the SEN department for checking in on my son and me too.
I wanted to email to say how wonderful you all are. Yet again this year has not been without difficulties and challenges both local and national but yet again the whole team at BGS have worked together to deliver an amazing year. My children have been fortunate enough to have another wonderful year; thank you. I hope that all staff have a relaxing summer that they deserve. As a family we are looking forward to going away before we brace ourselves for a child in Year 11 and one in Year 13!
First of all, a massive thank you to the entire team at Bexley Grammar for your ongoing hard work to keep us all updated and to make our children feel so well cared for. As a teacher myself, I know how much hard work goes on behind the scenes and how little chance you will have had to relax over the holidays, so a heartfelt thanks to you, Mr Elphick, and everyone else working so tirelessly to reassure, inform and care for all of us, students and staff alike. We appreciate it more than you know.
Thank you again for your invitation to your summer musical extravaganza on Wednesday. Each time I write a "thank you" for one of these events it seems I say similar things. And, yet again, I have to compliment all involved in this enormous team effort who have brought off a superb result. However, the overriding feeling is one of joyousness, characterised particularly by the opening number and the closing number. Just to see the look of "joy" on the faces of the cast would have been enough for the whole evening, the rest being just the icing on the cake. I think you know the gratitude I feel for the school in terms of the impact on our young lives, setting the scene for all that came later. I have to say that I hope those young people that we enjoyed on Wednesday, in time, look back in the same way because it seems, looking on, that you are creating the same atmosphere as did your predecessors, an atmosphere and environment just as valuable as academic achievement. I hope they know how lucky they are to be where they are. Until the next time...
