Course Outline
Sports Exercise and Health Science is a multi-disciplinary group 4 subject, which is a study of physiology, biomechanics and psychology on human health and athletic performance.
SEHS is also an experimental science that combines academic study with the acquisition of practical and investigative skills. Students undertake practical experimental investigations in both laboratory and field settings. This helps them to acquire the knowledge and understanding necessary to apply scientific principles to the critical analysis of humankind and its sporting endeavours.

Collaborative Sciences Project
Students will also participate in the Collaborative sciences project, working with their peers in other subjects to contribute to a piece of shared work across the group 4 subjects.
Who will study SEHS?
SEHS will appeal to students who wish to reflect a strong focus on sports in their academic studies; Science students with an interest in Sports Science at BSc level, Physiology, Physiotherapy, Sports Psychology, or professions allied to medicine (PAMs) such as Physiotherapy. Arts/ Humanities focussed students looking for an applied alternative to a pure science discipline at standard level, or any student looking for an applied 2nd science option.
